Tesla’s Cybertruck is a Meme yet it Generates 146,000 Pre-orders

Tesla’s unveiling of the Cybertruck has been a bit of a mixed bag. It is a very popular meme on the Internet, but also an electric car nearly 150,000 want to pre-order.

One cannot open social media without running into a Cybertruck meme this week.

The Cybertruck is Extremely Popular

Some users have gotten very creative in naming the new electric car as well.

Despite being considered a meme, Tesla may have another popular product in its arsenal.

Elon Musk recently confirmed there have been over 146,000 pre-orders for the Cybertruck in the days following the announcement.

For a “failed product”, it goes to show any kind of publicity is good publicity these days.

The three different configurations of this electric car are also rather interesting.

Most pre-orders want a dual or tri motor, with just 17% opting for a single motor unit.

While the Cybertruck certainly looks like it comes out of a sci-fi movie, consumers have a different opinion regarding the matter.

These pre-order figures are rather impressive, despite the heavy-duty price tag associated with the Cybertruck.

Current prices for the unit range from $39,990 all the way to $76,900 depending on configuration and preferences.

It is expected that this unit will start going into production in late 2021, with no further date specific at this time.

For Tesla, the current figures could not go any better.

The company already has a firm grip on the electric car market with multiple models today.

It now seems that the Cybertruck will make its way into the top 10 of most-sold units by manufacturer in the coming years.
